Christmas came and went and my favorite present this year was a KitchenAid stand mixer! I have been wanting one of these for a while, because the mixer we had before this one was a handheld one and it didn’t mix very well. So when I saw the red KitchenAid under the tree I was ecstatic (thanks mom and dad!!!) I also received a chocolate macaron baking kit with a white mint filling. The kit came with a mix for the cookies, a filling mix, and a silicon mold. I decided to use my new mixer for the first time making the macarons.
Whipping the egg whites with the mixer was so easy and I could actually take a picture of the mixing process, which I wasn’t able to do before with the handheld one.
After I added the macaron mix to the egg whites I piped it onto the mat. We were all out of pastry bags, so I had to use a Ziploc bag to pipe them, so that’s why they are running together a bit!
Out of the oven!
I used my KitchenAid to make the filling also, and it worked very well!
