Pumpkin Cake Balls

October just started, so I thought a fall recipe would be fitting! These cake balls were easy to make, and you can customize them however you want! I used german chocolate cake for the inside, but you could choose any cake you want. Maybe a pumpkin cake? The outside is white chocolate, and you could decorate them any way you choose. I tried melting some semi-sweet chocolate chips and drawing faces on them to make jack-o’-lanterns, but it was really hard and they looked like trash so I just kept them as little pumpkins! There isn’t really a recipe for how to make these, it’s just getting the right consistency of the dipping chocolate that’s a little tricky. So here is how I made these cute pumpkin cake balls:

 

Ingredients
  • 1 cake
  • 2 cups of white chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • food coloring

 

instructions
  1. Take the cake and mash it up in a bowl, icing included
  2. Put the mix in the fridge for 15 minutes
  3. Roll the cold cake into little balls, then stick back in the fridge for 30 minutes or up to  24 hours
  4. Melt the chocolate with the vegetable oil in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until melted
  5. Separate a tiny bit of the white chocolate into a separate bowl, and color it green. Dye the rest of the white chocolate orange
  6. Dip cake balls in orange chocolate and wait until it is set (about 10 minutes)
  7. Plop some green onto the top for the stems
  8. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve
